Welcome,
to the Intelligent Vision Systems group directed by
Prof. Dr. Armin B. Cremers. The IVS group is part of the
Computer Science Department III,
of the University of Bonn.
Our group consists of two subgroups, the
Applied Computer Vision group,
headed by PD. Dr. Volker Steinhage, and the
Cognitive Vision Group, headed by
Dr. Simone Frintrop.
Real-world applications.
-
Our research focus is on developing intelligent computer vision systems to face challenges of complex real-world applications.
We successfully deployed intelligent vision systems like ABIS and VOCUS.
Cognitive approach.
-
We employ cognitive paradigms and strategies like visual attention, recognition by components, knowledge-based approaches,
and learning which have shown to be successful in natural vision.
Interdisciplinarity.
-
Generally, we cooperate with scientists from other disciplines like geoscience, biology, psychology, engineering sciences and robotics.
